Figure 16 show the histograms of IBD segment lengths for all IBD segments (human genome) and for IBD segments that match the Neandertal genome. For the human genome a peak is at 24,200 bp (41 kya), whereas, for the Neandertal genome, peaks are at 18,500 (74 kya) and 43,000 bp (43 kya). It can be seen that IBD segments that match the Neandertal genome are shorter, thus also older, though there is also an enrichment for longer IBD segments around 43,000 bp.
Figure 17 show the histograms of IBD segment lengths for all IBD segments that match the Denisova and the ``Archaic'' genome (``Archaic genome'' contains IBD segments that match both the Denisova and Neandertal genome). For the Denisova genome, we have peaks at 24,200 bp (61 kya) and 9,000 bp (131 kya), whereas, for the Archaic genome, peaks are at 11,200 bp (109 kya), 24,200 bp (61 kya), and 42,000 bp (44 kya). It can be seen that IBD segments that match the Neandertal genome are shorter, thus also older, though there is also an enrichment for longer IBD segments around 43,000 bp.
